Who Must file IRS 1099-INT Form?
File 1099-int, Interest Income, for each person:
- To whom you paid amounts at least $10 of Interest Income, Interest on U.S. Savings Bonds and Treas. obligations, Tax-exempt interest. (or at least $600 of interest paid in the course of your trade or business)
- For whom you withheld and paid any foreign tax on interest.
- From whom you withheld (and did not refund) any federal income tax under the backup withholding rules regardless of the amount of the payment.
Information Required to File Form 1099-INT (Interest Income)
The following information is required to be reported when filing IRS 1099-INT Form
- Payer Details: Name, EIN/SSN, and Address.
- Recipient Details: Name, EIN/SSN, and Address.
- Amount paid for : Interest income, Foreign taxes, Tax-exempt interest, Interest on U.S. Savings Bonds & Treas. obligations, Bond premium on Treasury obligations & tax-exempt bond.
- Federal Details: Federal Income and Federal Tax Withheld.
- State Details: State Income, State Tax Withheld.
